On a sad note, our unemployment rate has jumped to 10%, and manyfamilies with Potlatch are looking at temporary layoffs in the weeks tocome. It will be a tough holiday season for many. As we hear ofopportunities to help, please share with this group and others so that we can pull together to help ease the crunch.

The mystery library pictured at the Plummer Library Open House was from neighboring community Potlatch, Idaho. Nobody guessed the correct library. The two open houses were sparcely attended, but those who stopped by were able to look around the library, watch an ongoing slide show regarding the plans and reasons for a new library along with some history, and get a super charge of sugar from home baked goodies.

Got a video camera? NO?! WELL, WE DO! And you can check one out to use to record a family outing at the lake, maybe you have a family reunion coming up! Or how about graduation, camping, weddings, baseball games, Hoopfest, or maybe you just want to record a pet doing silly things around the house, your children or grandchildren being the cute kids they are. WE ENCOURAGE YOU to utilize us to save your memories! AND………WE will HELP you to make a simple video of it to keep for yourself to play at home, send to far away friends and family, post on your youtube or myspace accounts, or more. Here is an AWESOME idea for Father’s Day or birthdays….why not make a personal video for your dad (or whoever) telling them your very special message, add some music, add still pictures and give them a video card!!! Guess how much that will cost you……ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Well, just the cost of the DVD and envelope. But yet that gift is priceless because it will mean so much to that person. Whatever you choose to do, we want to show you how…..FOR FREE! We are in the office M-F 8a-4:30p and can work with you anytime during those times to get you started on your very own project. Anyone can do this. All we need is you to show up. If you are interested in one on one training, please call Leslie at 208-686-1164 or Bill @ 208-686-2022 to set up a time to come in. We do alot of work in the lab and community so if we do not answer, please leave a message of what time and day is best for you with your name and phone number and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Our classes are beginner friendly. If you have never touched a video camera before, we can show you how! And how to make something with your footage.

The Coeur D’Alene Tribal Technology Center will be starting our E Commerce segment of our grant soon and we will be teaching various classes on what E Commerce is, how to be involved as a buyer or seller online, online securities for purchasing online, how to start your own business online and more. Classes will start June 2nd and will be every Mon- Thurs. Times TBD soon. I have sent out a short survey to include the community in choosing what things they would like to learn and have recieved a few back but not as many as I had anticipated so I am going to take those surveys into consideration and do the best I can to offer as many topics as I can. I can tell you that Mondays will always be like an intro to E Commerce, explaining what it is about and how you can be a part of it and throughout the week will be more detailetd about being a part of it. I will have the scheudule out by Monday morning, May 26th. So if you have ever thought about possibly starting your own business from home, or have a business that is not on the web yet, or just want to see what all is out there, come check out our classes!! THEY ARE ALL 100% FREE!!
