Ruth Cox has a reputation of being a really good cook and many claim she bakes the best biscuits in Benewah County. The biscuits have not been as good recently since Ruth became ill and had to quit cooking. A lot of folks miss the biscuits, the warm greetings and Ruth’s caring consideration. She was part of the morning ritual of the breakfast crowd in Plummer at the Gateway Cafe. They decided to help her with medical expenses by having a fundraiser breakfast.
The American Legion donated the use of the hall (Plummer Senior Site) on State Highway 5 for the morning of Oct. 25th. Breakfast will be served from 7 am to 11 am. Biscuits and Gravy, Ham, Hot Cakes, Juice, Fruit, Coffee and Tea are on the menu. Breakfast will be by donation only. During the morning, there will be a Silent Auction of Pies.
Raffle tickets will be sold from the time of the breakfast until shortly before Thanksgiving. Four items will be raffled: A Picnic Canopy: a Thanksgiving Basket with Turkey and trimmings; a Ladies Spa Basket; and a 9 bottle Rack of Wine donated by Ruth’s “6 a.m. Boys”. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the breakfast and later at the Gateway Café.
